Evaluation of the rough copy 'Scarlett'
Evaluation
In our rough edit of our film opening 'Scarlett' there were individual shots and sound that weren't as effective as others. As we went through each shot there was many that were not sharp enough or was not framed well enough these shots were discarded and even though we imported them we didn't use them.
The shots we did use worked very well however some need to be re edited or replaced. These shots are the first shot of the group of teenagers walking towards the park as a long shot. This shot we needed to cut out the end where they veered of to much. This was immediately dealt with and flowed very well with the next shot of the close up of one of the characters opening the gate.
After this shot the next shot we need to improve on is where the character jack said 'wanna hear a scary story' the sound of this didn't perfectly fit with the shot therefore when we edit it for the final outcome we must focus on matching it by using garage band to determine the pace of the sound.
Another shot we need to concentrate and improve on is the two shots of the empty swings swinging and the character 'Scarlett' swinging on the swing. We roughly used the video transitions of cross dissolve and dip to black. However there wasn't a balance between the both and the speed wasn't fast enough. Therefore when we edit this again we will make sure these issues are sorted.
