Evaluation of my shot type clips

In my First shot types clip i didn't have any ideas of how to structure it and how to correctly frame the shots. The only idea i had was from the shot types clip we looked at before we went out and created our own. I organised myself by listing the shot types so that when i went round shooting i wouldn't forget them.

The positives
The positives of my clip was that all the shot types were put in a logical order and each shot was labelled correctly. There was a title page and credits at the end to create the clip to be very professional. All my shots I held the camera very steady especially my establishing shot and made sure there was movement/ action in my shots to make my clip more interesting. Also some of my shots weren't positioned in the centre which gave the clip a variety of shots. i feel that my pan shot was done very well as it was at a nice speed and used no zooming and the framing was well structured.

Negatives
Because this was my first time creating a shot types clip there was improvements to be made these are: In the extreme close up shot of a watch the shot was very blurry this needs to be in focus. The close up shot needs to just be of the persons head in mine there was a lot of space around it that was not needed. the medium shot, extreme medium and medium long shots need to be framed better and to avoid having excessive space above the head. Also in the medium long shot there is zooming which shouldn't happen as the camera needs to be still. My tilt shot needs to just tilt upwards and to not use zooming it needs to have the same distance between the camera and person the whole way up. Lastly the text needs to freeze before the shot begins as i did mine in the middle of the shot.

My second shot types clip used my improvements from my first shot types clip but there was still some adjusting to do.

The positives
The text labels of the shot types came at the beginning of the shot instead of in the middle. There was a high and low angle shot that was added. The camera was still very steady which is good. As well as the extreme close up being improved as it was in focus and not blurry. The close-up shot didn't use any space it was just of the head which was framed a lot better. All the extreme, medium and medium long shots were framed a lot better as there wasn't any excessive space above the heads. There was also more movement in the shots which made the clip emphasis the shot types better.

The negatives
The improvements for my second shot types clip are that i should credit the music, the tilt shot was very close up and when i realised i zoomed outwards. I should of re shot the tilt shot instead of using this one.

Improvements on video clip

Start the title slide at the beginning of the video clip.
Source/Credit the music at the end of the video clip.
Make sure the shots link.
Frame the shots.
Put the shots in a logical order.
Establishing shot- the shot has to have more height and less excessive  floor.
Long shot- make sure you maintain the distance and the keep the whole body in the shot.
Close up- The full head in the frame with no space around it.
Extreme close up- keep in focus
Tilt- Start from the bottom and at a medium pace tilt upwards and stop when you get to the top of the person/object do not carry on.
Pan- Start from the person or the start of the scenery.
Listen to the music before you put it on your clip so that it fits the clip and the style of the clip.
Use a good story line.
